Biota Conservation Centre

THE SMALL THINGS HOLD EVERYTHING TOGETHER

Frogs, reptiles, insects, snails and the plants they live among do the quiet work that keeps ecosystems alive. The Biota Conservation Centre is a living gallery, breeding facility and research hub built entirely around them, the animals nobody puts on a poster.

Each display helps fund the purchase and restoration of threatened natural land.

sYDNEY sTORE

One building, three jobs

Every enclosure is a self-sustaining ecosystem, built to copy a real Australian habitat.

Living ecosystem gallery

About 110 planted, self-cleaning habitats where animals behave as they would in the wild, from the canopy down to the soil.

Conservation & research

Backup breeding colonies of threatened species, raised to stay wild and ready for recovery programs, with breeding research done alongside universities.

Hobbyist’s shop
